Why Buy 20? #buybetterforever

So the question is why buy 20 items per year as opposed to the standard 67 items that most people will purchase? Our little small part will always make a difference especially, if one individual will make a decision 100 million times that’s 100 million people.

Why Buy 20 #buybetterforever

You might think to yourself well if I don’t buy those clothes won’t they end up in landfills since they’re being mass produced anyways? Well that’s not really the case. Our collective voice can change the way manufacturers do business because we will disrupt the supply chain and reform fashion as we know it. Clothes are not disposable because the materials that they’re made with are not disposable. If we decide to buy the best of what we can afford and only by 20, we will surprisingly find out how much better we can afford. Our collective impact in five years will change the landscape of forestry and will fill an entire great lake. Big business is not big business without small people. Most companies make their living on betting that a lot of individuals will need their products.

So here’s the fun part! I did the buy 20 experiment last year and found that I was able to purchase more quality products. If you were fortunate to have been employed throughout The pandemic then you realize the amount of money that you were saving by not eating out and going out. It’s the same for Clothing. We pick up items here and there and average about 67 items per year. Commit to buy the best 20 that you can buy so that Our collective spending will be heard.

Buying better clothing means that you’re buying better forever. The average lifespan of clothing has decreased by 10 times in the last 50 years. I believe there’s more than one way to help in our climate fight.
